Shorter and more upright than the species, having fine-textured, vase-shaped foliage that turns a splendid gold to orange-red in fall. Songbirds dine on the scented seed heads that rise above the foliage. Great winter interest. Used in rock gardens, garden edges, and also in mass plantings.
